As part of the latest series of crash tests carried out jointly by ADAC and its partners, the following vehicles were subjected to them 26 new baby car seats which have been tested for all size, weight and age categories. These crash tests carried out twice a year are used to evaluate different models on criteria such as safety, operation, ergonomics and pollutant content.
On the 26 car seats tested in this October session, none of them achieved the maximum mark of 'Very Good'. Nonetheless, the following points were raised 14 models were rated 'Good'. These include the Maxi-Cosi Pebble 360 and the Mima iZi Go Modular X1 i-Size which get excellent marks for safety, with a very low risk of injury in the event of a frontal or side collision.
With weak points in all the rating criteria, the 7 car seats classified as "Satisfactory" are for the majority of expandable car seats. These seats are unique in that they cover several age groups to accompany the child from birth to age 12. Due to the presence of pollutants, theOsann Oreo 360 II is the only baby car seat to have been judged "Insufficient". In fact, the seat sample examined contained traces of the plasticiser DPHP in a quantity higher than the limit values authorised by the experts, which automatically led to a downgrading of its rating.
