Installing the Kiddy Guardianfix 3

Installing the Guardianfix 3 is both easy and safe thanks to its K-Fix system, ISOFIX connectors with a unique lateral movement. In the event of a side impact, the car seat is pushed inwards, moving your child away from the impact zone.

After attaching the booster seat to the vehicle's ISOFIX anchorage points, the child is then secured in the seat using the vehicle's seatbelt. The guides built into the car seat make this operation much easier.

Children in Group 1 (9-18 kg) are kept safe by the impact shield, which has been specially designed to absorb the forces of a frontal impact and minimise the risk of injury. Once the child exceeds 15 kg (although we recommend waiting until 18 kg), use of the impact shield should be discontinued and replaced by the safety belt to keep the child safe and comfortable in the car seat.

For children weighing less than 11 kg, the seat is fitted with a reducer that is placed at the base to give them extra support and height. Over time, the seat adapts easily to your child's morphology thanks to the height, width and depth adjustments. The backrest is height-adjustable and the eye level indicator ensures correct positioning for a safe journey. The 13-position adjustable headrest combined with the deep seat and 5-position adjustable leg rest provide optimum comfort for your child when travelling.

To provide even greater comfort on long journeys, the padding is made from breathable materials that ensure good air circulation, even on hot days. What's more, the cover is removable and can be easily machine-washed, making it easy to clean up any splashes or crumbs your little one might leave behind.

Safety of the Kiddy Guardianfix 3

Kiddy has included innovative and advanced technologies in the Guardianfix 3 to ensure your child's safety at all times. The side protection and headrest have been designed with Honey Comb 2 technology, which disperses and absorbs impact force before it reaches your child. In addition, the Guardianfix 3 is equipped with a shock absorption system in the lower belt guide that absorbs the energy created when the safety harness tightens in a collision, protecting your child's sensitive and fragile pelvis, cervical spine and brain.

The Kiddy Guardianfix 3 has a height-adjustable headrest, so it can be perfectly adjusted to suit the size of your child. The head protection system is specially designed to eliminate 30% of impact forces to ensure optimum protection of the upper body during a frontal collision or emergency braking, by effectively absorbing impact energy.

The Guardianfix 3 has been awarded an excellent rating of 1.9 (Good) by Stiftung Warentest and ADAC, two reputable bodies that carry out crash tests on child car seats in addition to their European approvals. In particular, it demonstrated a low risk of injury in both frontal and side impacts, with good belt routing for easy installation.

Who should use the Kiddy Guardianfix 3 car seat?

While the Kiddy Guardianfix 3 is an excellent choice for children from 15 kg (approx. 3 to 4 years), we have some reservations about its use for babies from 9 months. We are convinced that a baby is much safer in a rear-facing car seat (baby cosy), and the Guardianfix 3 does not offer this facility. The limited recline function offered by this Group 1/2/3 progressive car seat means that a sleeping baby will not be installed in a sufficiently comfortable position.

However, the Guardianfix 3 is an excellent option for older children, thanks to its advanced technology and features. It is easy for parents to install and use, and offers great comfort and adaptability for the child.
