Several years ago, Britax Römer launched the Dualfix, one of the first car seats capable of rotate 360 for easy installation of your child in the car and to change the orientation of the seat from rear-facing to forward-facing. Characteristics of Britax Dualfix car seats

The Britax car seats Dualfix are equipped with numerous safety and comfort features to enable parents to travel with a child as serenely as possible until the age of 4. Some features are specific to certain models, so be sure to check our comparative table the options available for each seat.

• 360° rotation

The strong point of Britax Dualfix is its function of 360° rotation which makes installing your child in the seat particularly practical and easy. You can easily turn the seat towards you to install and fasten your child easily before positioning the seat either rearward-facing or forward-facing.

• ISOFIX Attachment

To avoid any risk of incorrect installation, all Dualfix models are firmly attached to the car by the system ISOFIX attachment. The base also has colour indicators to confirm that the seat is correctly installed.

• Back to the road

The seat can be installed with the child's back to the road for as long as the child uses it (up to the age of 4), for maximum safety. As a reminder rear-facing position is the best way to protect your child in the event of an accident. The rear-facing position is authorised up to 105 cm on models approved to R129 (i-Size) or up to 18 kg for R44/04 approved versions.

• Side guards (SICT Inside)

This protection has the advantage of always being activated without enlarging the dimensions of the seat in the rear seats. For smaller occupants, however, the seat's high side walls may impede visibility to the outside.

• Pivot Link

The Pivot Link is an innovation that has been around since the first Britax Dualfix. It is a system of anti-tilt device which reduces the forward movement of the seat in the event of an accident.

• Newborn reducer

Unlike some swivelling car seats The reducer included with Dualfix is perfectly suited to the needs of newborns up to a maximum height of 60 cm. The insert optimises the passage of the belt and improves the seat so that baby can lie down comfortably in an ergonomic position.

• Slopes

The Britax Dualfix has several levels of inclination to provide a comfortable resting position for your child, whether in the rear-facing or forward-facing position. In the rear-facing position, the seat is slightly more reclined so that newborns don't have their heads falling forward as they sleep. The recline is easy to adjust even when the child is sitting in the seat.

• Anti-rebound bar

La adjustable rebound bar (except Dualfix 2 R) is a special feature not found on any other model. Not only does it prevent the seat from tipping over in the event of an impact, it can also be adjusted to fit the back of the rear seat, giving your child more legroom.

• 5-point harness

The 5-point harness can be easily adjusted with a simple push. The padded, non-slip neoprene shoulder pads are very comfortable, but a little wide for smaller riders.

• Adjustable headrest

Simply pull the ring above the headrest upwards to adjust it to the desired height. The headrest and harness adapt optimally to the child's height.

• Interior lighting

Exclusively available on the Britax Dualfix iSenseThe head office has two LED mood lights that allow your child to see and be seen in the dark. A neat little gadget, but clearly not essential.

With the exception of Dualfix Z-Line and Dualfix 3 i-Size which were not tested, all the other models obtained very good results. very good crash-test results with an overall score of "Good". What are the differences between each model?

• Britax Dualfix

Le Britax Dualfix was a Swivel car seat from Group 0+/1 suitable for children from birth to 18kg. At the time of its launch, the Dualfix was one of the few car seats that could really be used from birth, thanks to its reducer and sufficiently high recline for the smallest children. This model is no longer sold.

• Britax Dualfix i-Size

Le Britax Dualfix i-Size is a version approved in accordance with the latest R129 regulation (i-Size) for travelling with children from birth to 105 cm (up to approx. 4 years). The Dualfix i-Size is now equipped with the side protection (SICT Inside) and a optimised headrest. The addition of a adjustable rebound bar now makes it possible to increase the space available so that your child can travel comfortably with his or her back to the road for as long as possible. The seat base has been improved to make it much easier to swivel the seat. The shape of the harness shoulder pads has been reworked to be softer and less thick. Finally, Dualfix i-Size now has 6 tilt positions which can be used both facing and facing away from the road.

• Britax Dualfix M i-Size

Unlike the Britax Dualfix i-Sizethe Britax Dualfix M i-Size does not include a reducer for newborn babies. The seat can therefore only be used for travelling with children. from 61 to 105 cm (from 6 months to 4 years approx.).

• Britax Dualfix 2 R

Le Britax Dualfix 2 R is the direct replacement for the first Dualfix. It is an approved model in accordance with the regulation R44/04 for children from 0 to 18 kg (Group 0+/1). Unlike the Dualifx i-Size, this model does not have an adjustable bounce bar or the protection system (SICT Inside). Although the Dualfix 2 R is approved for use from birth, no newborn insert is supplied with the seat. • Britax Dualfix 3 i-Size

Le Britax Dualfix Z-Line is a model sold exclusively by Amazon. This is an identical version to the Dualfix M i-Size, but without the side protection (SICT Inside).

• Britax Swingfix i-Size

Le Britax Swingfix i-Size is identical to the Dualfix i-Size except that it cannot be installed facing the road. It is for this reason that this model has been awarded the Swedish Plus Test and that its crash-test rating in terms of safety is better.

• Britax Swingfix M i-Size

La 360° rotation on the base allows the car seat to be swivelled to face your car door, making it easier to put your child in the seat. The Flex Base iSense has the adjustable rebound bar but also several levels of inclination to ensure your baby is in the most comfortable position at all times.
